Our Head Coach, Dani, has been competing in Crossfit for about 5 years, starting in college when she was looking for something new and challenging after deciding to no longer play on the volleyball team at Lynchburg College.  Being a year-round athlete all through her life, playing basketball, volleyball, track & field, and lacrosse, she missed the competitive atmosphere and daily, tough workouts.  Crossfit gave her exactly that and she fell inlove with the sport immediately!

She  has been competitive within our Mid-Atlantic Region, placing in the top 100 of Regional Athletes for the past 2 years.  She competes on OP's competition team, OPGrit and was on the OP Regional Team in 2016.  She has also competed in various local competitions including RuFit, Gangs of the Mid-atlantic, Team Grit, and various Superfit Games as well as placing 3rd at the Superfit National Championship in the Pro Division (pictured above).  

Dani has an extensive background in Exercise Physiology and Sports and Exercise Nutrition and is OP's in-house Nutrition Coach through her business Certitude Nutrition.  Eating the proper balance of foods is vital for not only elite Crossfit performance but also for feeling good during daily WODs and overall health! Dani has had success with coaching all types of people, helping them improve their eating habits to see and feel their best inside and outside of OP!  She is experienced in coaching workouts with a wide variety of clients and athletes from middle-school basketball players to collegiate varsity athletes and from a beginner client new to any exercise to elite Crossfit athletes.  Dani's passion is helping people find their confidence through strength and health and loves helping anyone reach their goals of competitive performance, general fitness or overall health and wellness with Crossfit training as well as proper balanced nutrition habits!
